We repair brick steps and stoops when the structure is sound and rebuild them from the base up when it isn’t. Either way you get steps that are solid, level, and safe.
What’s included
Brick tread and riser repair
Resetting loose bricks and replacing broken ones on the treads and risers.
Repointing steps
Raking out and repointing worn mortar joints on the stoop and side walls.
Caps and side walls
Repairing or replacing cracked caps and rebuilding side walls.
Full stoop rebuild
Demolition down to the base and a complete rebuild in brick, concrete, or stone.
Concrete step repair
Fixing broken step edges and resurfacing concrete steps.
Railing anchors
Resetting loose railing posts into sound masonry.
Signs it needs work
- Loose or rocking bricks on the treads
- Cracked, sandy, or missing mortar between bricks
- Steps that tilt forward or feel uneven underfoot
- A gap opening where the stoop meets the house
- Loose railings or rust where the posts enter the brick
If the steps are solid underneath, a repair is usually all you need. If the base has settled or water has gotten into the core, a rebuild is safer and lasts much longer.
